The Circus by Gwyneth.

Gwyneth made this book, the circus, in her English class in Kindergarten. This is her teacher-Mrs. Heidi's idea, and I like it. ( I believe many parents will love this idea, too.)
Before this project started, Mrs. Heidi asked parents to donate money or facilities to help this project. It really works. Most elementary schools here are small compared to those schools in Taiwan. JSIS, Gwyneth's school, is getting bigger and bigger these years. Normally 300 students are in this school for 6 grades. Last year, it opened the 3th kindergarten class in Japanese program. This year ( 2010-2011), it will expand to 4 kindergarten classes, 2 in Spanish and 2 in Japanese. There are still around 60 students on the waiting list ( JSIS is the school with the most students in waiting list and people on this list probably unable to get in because the new assignment plan). Schools here are really driven by the community ( or we can say families). Without the efforts or money from those families, the school is unable to so success just with great teachers. Getting a good public school, you must live in a good neighborhood. The situation is the same in Seattle as in Taiwan.
